Getting Started
There are several ways to search within InfoSpace Yellow Pages:
Quick Search
Quick search is a fast, easy way to locate a business by
name or category in a specific city and / or state. Select either the “Name of Business” or “Type of Business” search and enter the desired
information in the field provided. Next, enter the correct information in the City and State fields. To search an entire state, leave the city field blank.
For example, if you were searching for an accounting firm in Boston, you would enter accounting or accountants in the field provided and select “Business
Type”.Or, if you knew the name of a specific accounting firm, you would enter the name in the field provided and select “Name of
Business”. Once this information was entered, you would enter the correct City and State information for Boston, MA.
Detailed Search
Refine your search by entering
a combination of Business Name, Business Category, City, State or ZIP code. Enter the appropriate information in the search fields and the results will be
displayed.
If, for example, you were trying to find a barbershop in Toledo, OH, you would enter “barbershop” in the field provided and select “Type
of Business”. Or, if you knew the name of the specific barbershop, you would enter its name in the field provided and select “Name of Business”. You would
then enter Toledo, OH in the city and state fields, respectively, or enter the ZIP code for that city in the ZIP code field.
Near Address
Enter
the business name and/or category that you would like to find and provide the address you’d like the results to be near. For instance, if your neighborhood
were downtown Seattle, and you wanted to find a florist within five miles of your home, you would enter “florists” in the field provided and select the
“Type of Business” option. Then, you would enter your street address and ZIP code and press the Find button. Your
requested results would now be displayed, with the closest options appearing first.
For quick access to your home or business address, click the Set Your Default Address link. Fill in
your address in the fields listed. Your default address can now be selected each time you use the feature.
You can also set the radius of the search by selecting the maximum distance from the address.
Reverse Lookup
Have
a phone number but don’t know who it belongs to? Use Reverse Lookup to find information by simply using a phone number.
To find what individual(s) are registered to a certain phone number, simply enter the number in the Reverse Phone Number field. Be sure to
select the appropriate category lookup -- Residential or Business -- for the person you are seeking and press the Find button.
This service is available for both the U.S. and Canada.
More Information
Upon receiving the results of a search for any given company, you will have the option of requesting more information:
Maps: Detailed maps are available to show you where the business listing is located. You can click
within the map to pinpoint a location and use the arrows to navigate which direction you’d like to go. To display the map in greater detail or to see the
area around a business’s location, use the Zoom In and Zoom Out commands.
Directions: Not sure how to get there? Simply key in the location you are traveling from using the Get Directions link. Enter
your starting location -- street address, city and state -- and detailed directions will be provided from your location to the business listing
location.
Add to my Address Book: After setting up a personalized “My InfoSpace” account, use this feature to
quickly add business listings to your address book.
E-mail Address: An e-mail address may be listed along with the
postal address. You can use this address to contact the company. Click the link to open an e-mail message to send to the listed address.
Website URL: A Web site address may be listed along with the postal address. Click this link to go directly to the
company’s Web site. Nearby Businesses: This feature allows you to find businesses located near the listing you originally searched for. For
example, if you’re searching for a movie theater in Bellevue, WA, Nearby Business Search can easily find a bank, restaurant or coffee shop located
nearby.
Browse Categories: You
can browse a list of the most popular categories by clicking the Browse Categories link on the search form.
Bookmark Yellow Pages: Add Yellow Pages to your
favorites list. Now you can come back as often as you’d like by simply selecting Yellow Pages within your favorites list.
